Jade’s festival rundown

POSTED ON WEDNESDAY 30 SEPTEMBER

It’s almost time for Darlington’s award winning theatre festival! If there’s anyone still struggling to decide what to see, read my little guide on each of the main shows as summed up in my own unique northern style!

THURSDAY

Festival Launch Show  – Kicking off the festival in style, we have  three wonderful short performances with  superb music from Mush, the amazing Kate Fox comedy poet and the fabulous Flex Dance. Plus, we will be turning our Jabbervan into a Jabberbar which is a reason in itself to come along!

FRIDAY

Wot? No Fish!! – I think the best brief way to describe this is it’s an extremely beautiful rom com. Basically, just go see it, everyone else has and they love it!

Scratch Night – This is 4 extracts of exciting new work, a bit of dance, a bit of theatre and a bit of clowning. It’s a great night out and, after all, variety is the spice of life.

SATURDAY

Beats North – This show has a live DJ on stage with proper turntables and everything! It is 2 one man shows back to back, both about lads growing up in the North East and how music influenced their lives.

This Is How We Die takes place at the unique venue of Inside Out nightclub. And well, the title says it’s all, it will be dark and it will probably push boundaries but everyone is talking about it and travelling so far to see it, so it is absolutely not to be missed!!!

SUNDAY

At The End Of Everything Else – the whole show is powered by people on bikes so it’s super eco friendly. It’s a beautiful family show for ages 6 plus,  what’s more, there’s also a fun workshop after the first show for the audience to have a go.

This is going to be the best Jabberwocky Market yet and it starts this Thursday 1st October.
